Driade @ Salone del Mobile, Milano
Pad. 16 Stand D31 – E26

Driade display at Salone del Mobile, will be designed by Fredrikson Stallard, artists and designers met and introduced by Driade in 2012 with the table Waterfall. The design of the exhibition scenario will be based on three fundamental elements: cement, as ultimate expression of architecture, gold as translation of the eclecticism and elegance typical of the brand and water as example of continuous transformation and regeneration.An inspiring scenery where to set the new proposals, but not characterized, to communicate
that Driade house can live anywhere a sophisticated and curious person lives, both in a historical building as in a contemporary loft.

Preview Sereno By Fredrikson Stallard

The creations by Fredrikson Stallard, the London-based firm founded in 2002 by the architects Patrick Fredrikson and Ian Stallard, represent a meeting point between art and design, embellish the spaces and introduce decorative objects aesthetically unique and
unmistakable. The eccentric Sereno comes out from a steel plate, is a coffe table with an irregular shape but at the same time harmonious, reminiscent of the sharp shapes of the rocks and the reassuring peace of the sea.

Preview Nemo By Fabio Novembre

Beside the new collection, there’s an important review of some iconic products through the use of essences, lacquers and metal powders Nemo by Fabio Novembre, presented for the first in 2010 during “Salone del Mobile”, is the manifestation of a design that enhances
the human figure, by drawing a face with classic features that reveals an inner seat. In the new version, Nemo will be embellished by  a metal powder coating in three colors: iron, bronze and copper.

11 ROOFTOP by Driade

During the Salone del Mobile Driade total living becomes true. The settings shown in an abstract booth at the fair are reflected in the furnishings of one of the most fascinating areas of Milan skyline, the roof garden of the Una Hotel Tocq, prestigious design hotel just a few steps far from Corso Como.

With a completely new look edited by Driade, 11 Rooftop arise from the collaboration wit the team “11The Group Milano/ Shanghai” a young group of Milanese entrepreneurs who aim to infect the globe creating new outposts in the name of Made in Italy, combining fashion, design and lifestyle: a unique location, where you can taste the best Italian aperitifs, realize exclusive events and  act as a sophisticated business meeting point for international design and fashion operators.

Driade path begins right from the entrance stairway, lit by Norma attractive and precious globe by Borek Sipek . Nemo chair by Fabio Novembre has the appearance of a human face and introduces visitors to the terrace, where the creations of the brand achieve a sophisticated setting : a large lounge area where the sinuous and natural forms dominate the ambience, such as those of the collections Tokyo-Pop by Tokujin Yoshioka , Plie , Grand Plie and Piaffe by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba which include sofas, armchairs and coffee tables with soft and embracing lines or Koishi pouf by Naoto Fukasawa that recalls the clean profile of a boulder. Neutral colors predominate, white or black, but with touches of bright nuances like silver of Out/In chairs by Philippe Starck with Eugeni Quitllet or orange curves of the armchair and sofa MT by Ron Arad. The  Kissino tables by Miki Astori appear as a glow and, together with the exotic Pavo Real armchairs by Patricia Urquiola, complete the magical setting of the terrace.

Permanently open from April 3rd to late September, the terrace becomes an occasion of meeting in a very “strategic” location, during the Salone del Mobile from April 8th  to 13th  , a place of meetings with designers and a space for events that revolve around the famous brand that has wrote the history of design and still proves its “joie de vivre” , versatility and ability to be a receptive interlocutor for the world of contract

Driade @ Feed it. Think. Create. Change

In support of the project Oxfam, one of the leading organizations engaged in humanitarian emergencies and development projects, the Association Montenapoleone realizes, during the ‘Montenapoleone Design Experience, from April 6th to 13th , the open-air exhibition on contemporary design” Feed it . Think. Created. Change “.

Driade will participate in the initiative that will culminate with the auction sale of the creations on display and the allocation of the proceeds to Oxfam. The exhibition begins in Via Montenapoleone and continues in Via Verri, Via Sant’Andrea and Piazzetta Crocerossa. Several items of design will be shown in transparent display cases, including one of the creations belonging to Driade Kosmo collection, the set of ceramic vases “ 6 Amici” designed by Linde Burkhardt.

Driade @ 100% Original Design

Driade couldn’t miss the multimedia exhibition “100% Original Design “ organized by Elle Decor at Palazzo Reale , last piece of the project Be Original organized in 2012 by the magazine with the aim to protect the creativity and originality and fight against counterfeiting of industrial design in Italy .

Open from April 7th to 30th, the exhibition tells stories about original design through historical and contemporary images and testimonies: the selection of 100 objects, dating from the Second World War to the present, includes icons considered frontrunners for technical and formal innovation and pieces that have changed our daily life, such as the mahogany Costes chair designed by Philippe Starck in 1984 and tray Lucca taken from the collection 100 Piazze by Fabio Novembre of 2008 , which revives the most famous squares in Italy and the monuments that surround them.

The “fil rouge” of the displayed items is the research in the field of design, which distinguishes the activity by Driade right from its origins


In the picturesque setting of the Portico del Richini of Milan University, the magazine INTERNI will celebrate on April 9th  its 60th birthday with a private dinner for 240 guests belonging to the world of design. The tables will be set up to represent the six decades that have made the magazine INTERNI one of the leading observers of contemporary design worldwide. 60 years that have marked the furnishing taste and style, through products, pride of Design, always duly recorded and interpreted by INTERNI. Among the exclusive furniture chosen on this occasion, there are many Driade projects: Pip-e the light chairs designed by Philippe Starck, Meridiana the precious chairs by Christophe Pillet, devoted to setting up the press office, up to Tenochtitlan, red coral branches that form the intricate design of the candlestick by Vittorio Locatelli.

Driade @ Cosmit Red Lounge

Many Driade projects will furnish the “Red Lounge” of Cosmit at Fiera Milano-Rho, the space reserved for journalists, architects and designers inside the exhibition area: the architect Piero Russi has chosen the pouf Koishi designed by Naoto Fukasawa that is characterized by its clear naturalistic form, the colonial style armchair Pavo Real by Patricia Urquiola and the eclectic Nemo chair by Fabio Novembre

Driade @ Ceramica Sant’Agostino

The display Ceramica Sant’Agostino at the Salone del Mobile, curated by Elena Caponi and located at Hall 24 Stand E14 – E18, alternates the company’s proposals with some of the most significant products of furniture by Philippe Starck during his brilliant career. Among these, the chair OUT / IN designed together with Eugeni Quitllet for Driade: a comfortable seat to retreat looking for a relaxing time.

The collaboration between Philippe Starck and Driade continues without interruption since 1984, the year of birth of the famous Costes chair first consecration of the unknown designer in Italy, and has given rise to many furnishings that excellently interpret the eclectic soul of the company.
